If you’re lost…

We all some very trying points in our life, whether it be major decisions, bad news concerning a family member, searching out our purpose and call from God, or you are just plain dazed and confused, God has a message for you:

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:11-13 ESV)

Come and pray to me, God says. How does that look practically?

Matthew in his gospel says:

“But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” (Matthew 6:6 ESV)

Shut the door. Turn off the phone, the iPad, the computer, the PS3, the music, and go pray to your Father. He is inviting you, but you will not hear Him amidst the distraction.

God has a perfect future for you, circa eternity. Do you understand what that means? Circa is when something was established, first thought of, or inaugurated. Your unique story has been fashioned before the stars were sewn into the sky. Each day has been delicately and beautifully threaded into God’s tapestry that depicts your life. Nothing that goes on in your life, is an addition or subtraction to that woven tapestry. All the right colors have been chosen with limitless wisdom and God is rejoicing in your life. In Zephaniah, the bible says God sings over us. So take heart, call upon the Lord, and seek Him with your whole heart.
